Pacific and Southwest Regional Health Equity Council Releases Three Community Health Workers’ Information Briefs

The Pacific and Southwest Regional Health Equity Council released three information briefs addressing Community Health Workers as frontline service providers who serve to bridge formal health systems. The Community Health Workers in an Evolving Technology Environment brief discusses the use of technology in health care delivery and patient engagement as a new opportunity for health improvement. The Mental Health First Aid brief discusses Mental Health First Aid, which is an adult public education program designed for individuals who may not be familiar with this field, to improve their ' knowledge and modify their attitudes and perceptions about mental health and related issues. The Community Health Workers and Chronic Disease Prevention: An Overview of Resources brief discusses the national resources that are available to support the work of Community Health Workers within the arena of chronic disease management.
